Airsoft is a military simulation based game. Opponents use *Airsoft replicas to shoot plastic BB’s. Airsoft is similar to Paintball because it can be fast paced and requires being hit by a projectile. The difference is the BB’s do not splat on impact. BB’s are not filled with any substance that could mark the hit opponent. It is a game of honor. Players must call themselves out when hit. Airsoft games are also much more technical and most game play is scenario based. There is usually and objective or many objectives to complete a game. Games can last 5 minutes in CQB/Speedsoft or hours in scenario type games. *Airsoft replicas are made to look like real firearms and come in all types of formats from pistols and rifles to snipers. It is very important for parents to understand what their kids are getting into and to treat all equipment that expels a projectile as if it were a real firearm. The safety should be engaged, magazines should be out and breach clear when not in an active game. Barrel blocking devices are also required and must attach to the replica to prevent accidentally expelling a projectile. Full face masks are required during play. Eye protection must be rated for Paintball and Airsoft play and sealed to the face to prevent entry to the eye area.. Your nose, cheeks, mouth and ears must be covered by Airsoft approved mesh or mask or a baklava that cannot be removed during play.

White cake mix according to directions. Half of the white cake mix will be used for the green or pink. I used green since it was a boys birthday party. 10 drops of food coloring is enough. Use two of the egg yolks (leftover from the white cake mix) and one more whole egg for the chocolate cake mix. Save money and buy one chocolate frosting and two white frosting from the dollar store. They are smaller but it’s all you’ll need. 5 – 7 drops of food coloring for the green or pink. Use a frosting bag with the flower tip. Put all three colors in the bag next to each other so they all come out at the same time. This was a fun activity for myself and the kids. Let them be part of making their special day happen.

Compressed Air Tanks require certification in the United States and Europe. In the United States the DOT ( Department of Transportation ) enforce the standards set by CGA ( Compressed Gas Association ). In Europe the UN ( United Nations ) and EU ( European Union ) enforce the standards set by ISO ( International Standards Organization ). It is very expensive for manufacturers in paintball, or any industry that uses cylinders, to be part of ISO and CGA. This ensures safety standards for all when it comes to manufacture and use of cylinders. If you have a tank with an ISO number and you live and play paintball in the US you need to make sure your tank also has the UN symbol and the USA certification code stamped on your tank in conjunction with the ISO number. If your tank only has an ISO number it is NOT VALID for use in the United States. All of these tanks are still subject to Hydro Testing every 5 years and all tanks have a 15-year lifespan. Be aware of tanks made by Inocom, Luxfer and Carelton that require a 3-year hydro test and 15-year lifespan. Be an ambassador for our sport. Make sure your gear is compliant with United States Standards. Drop your tank at any Velocity Paintball location for hydrotest. Cost is $25. Out of state? No problem. E-mail denise@velocitypb.com a picture of your tank label to make sure your tank meets the requirements. Fill out the Services Form with Payment Info. Click the link below.

Paintball Equipment relies on a battery with an ability to deliver current or milliamps (milliampere or mA) at high capacity. Your trigger is a switch and every time you make a connection you are drawing power from the battery. The number of mA deliverable by a battery will depend on its general design. Some are designed to “give up” all their current freely and die quickly. Some are designed to ration it out more conservatively and last a long time. Our experience has shown Varta and Energizer to be the best choice for longevity in paintball equipment. Some Duracell batteries can compete but you have to purchase the more expensive grades of 9volt to get a similar performance. When you can you should always use the rechargeable battery that came with your equipment. Be sure to read the manual about charging and use. For higher end paintball markers make sure to pay attention to low battery signals so your low battery doesn’t interfere with performance. Without going into great nerd-speak we broke it down to what you want to know. For more information Google: 9v battery mah comparison How many mA is a 9v battery?

We get many inquiries about team sponsorship. A team that has been together for a season or more and has proven they can play, shown their loyalty to each other and commitment to playing the sport are more likely to get sponsored. If you are just starting out and your team hasn’t even played one event or practiced together, you are not a candidate to receive free or discounted goods and services. Sponsorship is a reward for hard work. Companies are more willing to sponsor teams with a proven record. They can be assured their products and services will be actively advertised. A team looking for sponsorship should be mindful that it’s a marketing tool used by companies to promote their products. The sponsorship is really a business relationship. You’ll have a responsibility to promote the products of the company. You are now a representative of the company and their products. Professionalism and courtesy go a long way. Things to think about when actively seeking a sponsorship; What companies and products you would have no problem wearing, using or promoting in a positive manner. Manufacturer or local field/store? If you go to the manufacturer you will have to wear, use and promote all of their products. If you go to your local field or store you have choices of several manufacturers. You could end up wearing and using all of your favorite items. Does your team have a resume/portfolio? Asking for sponsorship is like applying for a job. You should have a portfolio to show; complete with team mission statement, player profiles, accomplishments, events/tournaments played, future goals and events/tournaments you plan to play in the future. How you will represent your team online with a website and social media. Company vs. teams needs. Paintball is expensive companies offering sponsorship want to be sure you are a good investment. If you shop and play locally and the fields and stores in your area are already benefitting from your play and patronage, you will get noticed. Keep a positive attitude. Always be promoting paintball in the community. Teams that are actively involved in the paintball community have a better chance at getting the discounts and assistance they need when the time comes. Please come into our store in Kearny Mesa or our field in Ramona to see how we can outfit your team. You should expect to purchase no less than 5 items/each (ex. 5 items; pants, gloves, goggles, loaders, head wraps) in a package for 3 or more players. Each item must be from same manufacturer. (ex. all pants must be from one manufacturer) VELOCITY PAINTBALL – KEARNY MESA 8303 Clairemont Mesa Blvd Ste 106 San Diego, Ca 92111 858-565-1231 Open 7 days a week! Age requirements will vary with each field. The age a person is allowed to play is based on Insurance. At Velocity Paintball we have Cossio Insurance and they do not have an age requirement. This means anyone at any age can play paintball or airsoft. It is totally up to you to determine if your child is old enough to play. However, there is no refund for crying. Paintballs hurt when they hit you. The velocity/speed a paintball is traveling is 285 feet per second (194MPH) and the engagement distance can be as close as 15 feet. Velocity Paintball suggests that players be 10 and older when playing regular paintball (.68 caliber) and 8 and older when playing Low Impact Paintball (.50 caliber Paintball Soft/Paintball Light). The same rules apply to airsoft. Keep in mind an airsoft BB is coming at you at 420 feet per second (286MPH). We’re not trying to scare you. The reason we are conservative when suggesting an age limit is because we want everyone’s first time playing to be enjoyable.
